Two WorldView-funded documentaries, Love Commandos and Fireflies in the Abyss, are part of the selection of six films for Good Pitch² India on 4 February 2014.
The event will bring the films’ makers in contact with foundations, NGOs, campaigners, policy makers, brands and media to develop campaigns and create strategies for the films to have greater impact.
Love Commandos follows a group of Indian men who use guerrilla tactics to rescue young women from being murdered by their families and help them marry the men they truly love.
Fireflies in the Abyss tells the story of Sooraj, a boy working in the ‘rat-hole’ coalmines in the Jaintia Hills of north-east India.
Good Pitch² India is a satellite event of Good Pitch, organised and run independently by the Indian Documentary Foundation in association with Kerala State Chalchitra Academy and the Films Division of the Indian Government.
